Sorani Kurdish and Persian music

On 23 September, 2017, within the framework of the IV International Festival of Oriental Art and Music “RUMI FEST” (18.08.2017. – 23.11.2017., Riga), there will take place the only concert of Persian instrumental music performed by the group of Iranian musicians under the artistic direction of Mohammad Rasouli, which is going to give concerts in the Baltic states during its European music tour.
The concert program features such musical instruments as the ney (reed flute), which tremulous sound touches inner strings of souls; the tanbur (fretted instrument with tender sound), percussion instruments – the daf, the dohole and the tombak, and without which it is impossible to imagine Persian music.
Unique sound of Iranian musical instruments takes us away from vanity and stresses of our everyday life into the magic and incomparable world of exotics, love and inspiration.
Persian music creates fabulous atmosphere of profoundness, evoking our passion for life, filling us with peace and uniqueness of every moment.
All the group members are marvelous musicians; they can be called confidently virtuosos in playing different traditional Iranian musical instruments. They have taken part and won prizes at various musical festivals in Europe, at present they give concerts in many countries, compose music, and what is more, they teach younger musicians.
The group has an extensive repertoire, though the musicians themselves prefer more passionate tunes of Kurdistan and lyrical devotional melodies.
